The Doodle Do Crew Strikes Again!

It was the Kale

that fed the snail

who went to jail

to feed the hen

snug in her pen

to lay a surpise

to make Vuka pies

We’ve been so busy munching on fresh greens, fruits, slugs and snails lately, that my ladies were laying and laying! The Beakless Ones decided to make some very very yummy looking Spiced Papaya and Green Banana Chunk Pancakes. A breakfast of champions that we’d love to pass along!

Below are the ingredients that made for a scrumptious Vuka meal!

2 green bananas, chopped

1 large papaya, cubed

1 large egg

1 ¼c buttermilk

1 1/2 c Flour

2 Tbsp sugar

¾ tsp bicarb

½ tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

½ tsp cloves

½ tsp nutmeg

½ tsp ginger

4Tbsp oil/melted butter

The team started by frying the green banana with some cinnamon and delicious ginger from the garden. This was added to the mixture of wet ingredients and the dry was sifted together and folded in. Cooked in the oil wafted the smell from the kitchen all the way to us at the chicken-coop as we picked at the delectable scraps! We love Vuka breakfasts!
