Meet Our Team
Matt Kroll
Founder Member & Projects Director
Matt is 43 years old and lives in Port Edward, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, on the border to the Transkei/Eastern Cape. He has been working tirelessly for many years, with a vision to establish the Vuka Valley skills-sharing off-grid eco centre, aimed at uplifting the community by teaching sundry crafts as well as food-, water-, energy- and shelter solutions. All his efforts have been self-funded and without input from volunteers. Over the years, Matt has accumulated an extensive amount of skills and knowledge, which he is eager to share, if given the opportunity.
There is a great need for food and small income-earning opportunities, especially during the covid crisis and the recent flare-up of violent protests, looting & wide-spread destruction of property.
Tina Kroll
Graphic Design, Photography, Admin & Marketing
Tina, now 73, has shared Matt's philantrophic ideals for many years, and has been actively contributing towards the Vuka Valley goal from her desk rather than out in the field.
Vuka Valley is in need of more team members, supporters, volunteers and enthusiasts. Together we can make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. You are welcome to contact Matt with suggestions, on whatsapp/phone: +27 71 332 4477
You can also contact Tina at +27 82 828 6202 to arrange for Matt to get in touch with you.
Currently Matt is preparing beds & planting seedlings every Tuesday & Thursday in Banner's Rest, Port Edward, where land has been made available to establish a community food garden project.
Please support us by lending a hand to create a space where the hungry can find food and learn skills. You can contribute by assisting and/or donating funds through https://www.backabuddy.co.za/champion/project/matthias-kroll
Helpers can take seeds, seedlings & cuttings home to copy what we practice onsite.
