My sustainability starts at my doorstep.​

Internalize energy systems.

Bypass money with skills & knowledge.

Identify reusable resources in the immediate environment.

 

Apply renewable energy where it can be afforded.

Use alternative means & become the expert wherever possible.

Consider ‘applied soft technologies’ to substitute

commercial products & always try to grow food.

 

Decentralize & Internalize Energy security,

Food security, Water security & Shelter solutions.

Assign a value to what others call waste.

Reduce, Renew, Reuse & Recycle.

We are planning to create an Environmental Resource Centre, Demonstration Site & Activities/Accommodation Venue for the eco-minded, local & international travelers & Woofers.

Once we find land and some funding, we are going to build an Environmental Sustainability Hub for people from all walks of life to come, learn, partake & enjoy expanding the mind with knowledge & skills to create security in the 5 pillars of prosperous living:
 

-Food

-Water

-Energy

-Shelter

-Revenue

 

We will be building this space and creating solutions using up-cycling, re-cycling & in-cycling applications, which I've practised over the years, to bolster livelihoods & security in Food, Water, Energy & Shelter to liberate everyone involved!

 

I imagine a paradise in a valley where people grow with the land & good food is abundant. Where everyone involved can create a better life & a secure future. A place where surplus turns to growth & nothing goes to waste.

 

The Vuka Valley Learning Centre is also a free online resource platform for growing awareness around how to live light practically.

We will be populating the platform with 'Show & Tell' videos, demonstrating the basic 'How to..?' for the enthusiasts :)

 

We will be co-operating, providing memberships for short-term & long-term visitors once our venue is established and online content remains in the Public Domain for anyone and everyone to access, follow, learn, try, observe, adjust, improve & hopefully re-share :)

 

We will be covering a wide variety of topics including (but not exclusively):

 

~ Soil Cultivation, Balcony/Vertical Farming, Aqua-Culture, Bee Keeping, Mushrooms, Fermentation, SCOBY Cultures, Alternative Sugars, Small Livestock, Indigenous Foods, etc.

 

~ Rain Water & Atmospheric Water Capture, Water Management, Water Remediation, Sanitation & Water Heating, etc.

 

~ High-Tech & Low-Tech Solar Applications for Electricity, Convection/Ventilation, Spacial Heating & Cooling, Solar Cold Storage, Solar Cooking, Efficient Fire Stoves, Water Pumping, Alternative Fuels, etc.

 

~ Building with Natural Materials, Shipping Containers, Earthship Principals, Recycle Components, Waste-Plastic Insulation, Greenhouse & Tunnel Construction, Bamboo Construction, etc.

 

~ A variety of Home Industry Recycle Crafts that are functional & represent the quintessential archetypes of our diverse South African culture such as Car-Tyre Sandals, Recycled Wood Carving & Copper Jewelry, Stand-Pipe Penny-Whistles, Wood-Fired Pottery, Recycle Decor, etc.
 

The mission is to establish & develop a multitude of Micro-Enterprise opportunities for people to learn, duplicate, share, teach and spread into communities that are willing and searching for growth & liberation!
